The trail starts from Stâna de vale, on the path leading down to the Leșu lake. At the Carligate spring we turn right, go along the left side of it, then along the Muncelas spring. We are in the zone of Vicinale waterfalls. The most waterfalls are visible in the valley of Carligate and the Aria Vulturilor spring. The Aria Vulturilor spring is the left extension of Carligate.

Step by step we are rising to the Piatra Calului (1463 m), on the top of which we shall find a trail.

This goes in NS direction, along with the blue line sign, reaches the Raia look-out, goes round the Muncel peak (1411m ) and meets the yellow stripe sign on the ridge.

There we are left by the blue stripe sign.

Our sign goes further SE, on the Baia Popii ridge. As soon as we reach the wood path we meet other blazes.

Stâna de Vale - Vărășoaia Baia Popii-Ferice

We go with the red stripe 400 m, then turn left, get to the Promenade of Generals, where we are guided by the yellow cross blaze on the left.

Custurilor tour

The two blazes go together 1 km, then the yellow cross goes left, we instead go further directly to Stîna de Vale.
