Apuseni Nature Park

Google Static Map

The Apuseni Nature Park were created in 2004 on 75.784 hectare with the borderlines of the peaks: Măgura Fericii, Poienii, Bohodei, Fântâna Rece, Cârligatele, Coasta Brăiesei, Briței, Micău, Nimăiasa, Vârfurașu, Dealul Păltinișului, Piatra Grăitoare, Iconii, Cuciulata, the dike of Beles lake and the peaks of Pietroasa, Dobruș, Stânii, Pasul Vârtop, Brusturi, Măgurii, Plopilor és Dealu Blidaru.

In the inside of the nature conservation teritory there are some exclusively conserved areas like Bulz, Flora meadow, the environment of the Bear cave, Ponor meadow, Padis plateau Red Bottom Mountain etc.

The leadership of the nature conservation teritory hired 13 sentinels, marking the areas proper for camping, setting information boards. They have analyzed and identified certain preserved species and their life surroundings. The Stone Cris and Boga valley have been populated with shammies, and good news that some have already been found in the Rozsdas valley, at the Mirracle Castle and Scarica. Moor-cock was populated here between the years 1970-1980, which have been hunted so far. According to experts, on the territory of this park we can find 26 woolves, 12 lynxes and 21 bears.

The main appealing point of the Apuseni Park lies in its carstic nature. The experts of this park make huge efforts to conserve the caves. Several have been closed down, or preserved by nature. We can get into the nicest caves only with the permission of the Romanian Academy. Before entering a cave, we shall keep in mind that a drippstone has to grow 20years to reach 1 cm!

There are loads of tourists in these mountains in summer time and winter time too. Unfortunately information offices are not non-stop. The phone number of the park is: 0040-372-702-242
