Cincșor (Kleinschenk), Evangelical church

The settlement from the XIV century was formed in the vicinity of a Roman castle.

Its Gothic style church was built in 1421, to the place of a XIII century church. Its double wall, with stones form a Roman castrum, was raised in the XV century.

There are four towers along the walls. For defense a floor was also made above the loft, supported by wooden frame. In time of distress the fortress was a safe refuge, but the tower was also used for storing bacon, and cereals were stored in baskets hanging on the walls

One of the towers bears the mark of a sundial, the other tower is ornated with geometrical forms.
