Vărșag is a locality situated in Harghita county, with a population of 1580 inhabitants.

Vărșag is a new, and old village, at the same time. Old, because the fortress at they border of XI-XII-century. It is new, however, since it was created in 1907 from the unification of seven mountainside villages. Area of the village that was created reaches 7700 ha, half is covered by forests. The average altitude is 850 m, so it is avoided by hot summers. Here summers are short and cool and winters long and cold. Scented and extended meadows between houses attract bees. Residents here live from wood processing, agriculture, stone carving, weaving and spinning.
