Atia, Catholic church

On September 18, 2016, lightning burned the structure of the church roof. Although it had lightning, the electric shock was so strong that only the parish priest and the bell-ringer could save the monstrance, the chalice, some clothes, and liturgical books.

The flaming beams of the ceiling caught fire in the nave, including the altars, furniture, and organ. The bells also melted. He missed the mission cross and the statue of the Risen Christ. Of the church built between 1797 and 1799, only the walls and part of the tower remain. With public donations and significant financial support, by 2019 the church has been restored to its former form. The organ furniture and the bells in the tower are new.
