Chibed has been inhabited without interruption since the second half of the 12th century. The first documentary attestation is from 1499. The Uron and Tabika streams flow into its territory in Târnava Mică. Traces of the 13th legion, Gemina, were discovered nearby. The town is famous for the red onions grown here, but also the church built in the 19th century and the beautiful museum of the village await its visitors.
