Documentary attested in 1366, Lupsa is known as feudal settlement from the time of cneaz Nicholas Candea (1358). It is assumed that the two mounds of land would have been raised by the yard and the fortification of the family. In 1784, the army of Horea had clashes here with the imperial troops. The town boasts 3 major tourist attractions: the monastery and church built in the 15th century, with an 8-year difference, and the ethnographic museum - one of the largest in the country.
