Harghita Băi, Lake Circuit

Circuit Lake got its name from the asphalt biathlon track that surrounds it. Although many people believe it is not a mine lake but a semi-natural one created by the Pokat creek. Beneath the lake was a mine gallery flooded in the 1980s by lake water. The current of water was so strong that it took the locomotive and the wagons out of the mine. The mining company blocked the waterway, forcing the Pokát creek to collect its water back to the surface.

To the delight of athletes in 2008, after the demolition of Predeal biathlon track, it was opened to the modern biathlon track in the country. Since then, track athletes use both winter and summer.
