Roșia, water-mill

The wooden water-mill in Rosia village is the only one still working in the area nowadays.

It was built at the end of the 19th century. It consist of a mecanism with a large wheel with pallets, all made from wood, being put into motion by the water stream that been directed towards it by means of a small artificial watwrspout. The mill building is also built from wood planks. The building has a small porch and is covered with tiles. It is divided in two rooms. The lower one is the room which allows acces to the milling area and also shelters the milling mechanism, composed of a pair of stones and sieves. The miller s personal thing, as well as very basic furniture.
