The wooden church in Cucuceni has a troubled history. Initially it was the church of Ghighișeni, built in 1743, demolished by Ioan Lăpușneanu, and had a shingle roof. In 1929 it becomes stubborn, abandoned and sold in 1931 to Beiuș. In 1961 it is relocated again, being donated to Vărășeni, and in 2006 by a new relocation it reaches the house near Cucuceni. It is a beautifully decorated church, both inside and out. Unfortunately, only a few fragments remain in the original painting.

The present painting was made after moving Cucuceni church. Outside construction continues around the rope twisted reason. The frames of the entrance doors are identical to those of the wooden church in Brădet.
