The Ninorites had established here in the first part of the XV.th century and they built the first cloister and church between 1442-1448. The cloister we may see today was built between 1733-1779 and the church between 1804 and 1877 in place of the old ones. The biggest value of the worship church is on the high altar an in teil sculpted and gilded: the Holy Mother with Jesus on her arm (227 cm - XVI). In the yard there is the Suffering Jesus chapel (XV-XVI). In the building of the former high-school today functions the Domokos Pál Nursery Center. On the mount in the memory of the 1456's victory of Nádorfehérvár was built the painted coffered plafoned Salvator chapel. In the wooden house next to it lives an hermit. Some assign the organization of the first kermess to pope IV. Edmund who allowed the organization of a beneficial kermess for the unbuilt church in 1444. The later kermesses were organized becouse of the miracle sculpture what gave strength and brave to the szekler of Gyergyó and Csík who defeated János Zsigmond's protestant troops on Whit Saturday of 1567. Today the Kermess of Csíksomlyó is the overall hungarian's feast there are comming the people from all over the world on Whit Saturday. Here tooks place in June the One Thousand szekler Maid Day as well.
