Miercurea Ciuc, The Palat of Justice

In 1876 Miercurea Ciuc was designated as the headquarters of the county, so the legislative branch belonging to the Ministry of Justice moved from Șumuleu to Miercurea Ciuc. The first time it worked in a hall of the town hall, and from 1887 in the building of the Seky border guards regiment.

In 1905 the Court of Justice was over. The justice building plans and the prison were made in 1903 by Wagner Gyula, an architect specializing in justice buildings and prisons. He designed around two hundred public buildings.

He designed the Palace of Justice in Cluj Napoca, or Sighetul Marmatiei, where the City Hall is now, and the Prison Museum in prison. The Justice Palace was built by Koch Károly's firm. The prison was in the building behind the palace of justice.
