Eremitu, Peak Becheci

Culmea Becheci is a plateau located at an altitude of 1080m, from where we have a beautiful view of the mountains and surrounding towns. To the south we also see the Southern Carpathians, and to the north the Gurghiu Massif. No wonder there was once a fortress here.

Next to it was a chapel, destroyed in the 18th century. Battles were fought here in both world wars. In memory of those who fell in the second world explosion, the comrades erected a memorial pillar. There is also a Hungarian-Bosnian cemetery, surrounded by a fence.

The trenches can still be seen today. Through the collaboration of the neighboring localities, in the autumn of 2011 an ecumenical chapel was completed here. In the first days of October of each year, the heroes who fell on the set are commemorated here.
