Sâncrai, Catholic school

The school in Sâncrai was founded in 1540. The former Catholic school operated in this building next to the church, built between 1850 and 1860, at the same time as the house of the nearby singer.

The villagers tell that the building blocks were made of beautifully carved Rimetea with horse-drawn carts. The building was nationalized in 1948, but even after that it remained the headquarters of a school. There are currently 2 elementary classes at Szent István Primary School.
