Chiuiești, Greek-catholic church

The first Greek-Catholic church was built in 1772 on the land taken by a group of Orthodox believers. The book has been run since 1826. Instead of the old church, the current church wall was built between 1893 and 1897.

Denominational school opened its doors in 1844. In 1948 with the banning Greek Catholic religion and the church passed to orthodox. The school was closed and another school opened in the building, then the dispensary and the bakery. Greek Catholic parish was restored in 1992.

In 2003, the church was recovered by court order. Between 2008-2013 it underwent a complete restoration. The icons on the iconostasis made in Sânmarghita were painted by Rodica-Stela Cârcu from Baia Mare, and the altar and the vault of the ship by Adrian Vârtic and Paula Pușcaș from Cluj.
