The church of Borcut was built in 1868 by Orthodox believers on the land donated by the Leșe family. It was a wealthy family, who had a lot to suffer after the Communists came to power. This whole family also donated two bells for the church.

Because soil instability church was inclined, and in 1951 the tower was destroyed, but was rebuilt. Interior painting was done between 1975-1977, Fr. Artemije of Moldova. In 2014, the roof was painted. Now a new church is being built in the village.
