Cornești, Wooden church

Cornești wooden church was built in 1615 in place of another old church. Building plan is rectangular, of which the roof is double-deck turret rises and helmet rectangular tower and a flared base, which rests on the pillars 12 linked together by arches. At the top of the helmet there is a cross with three arms, a sign of the importance of the locality.

The interior is divided into a narthex, nave and altar. Horizontally suspended ceiling, still retains painted scenes. So the walls of the nave, where biblical scenes are separated by floral belts. The painting was executed on the wall bonded to the wall.

Due to the delay of roof repairs, the painting, made at the beginning of the 19th century by Toader Hodor painter from Viseu de Mijloc, suffered greatly.
