The old church of Vad was demolished in 1930, after the tower was fired twice, and burned. Believers sold all the wood they could recover and used the money to build the new church. The works lasted for 4 years, between 1904-1908.

With the ban on Greek-Catholic religion and this church became Orthodox. Since 2009 has been undergoing interior and exterior renovation, only the three bells cast between 1851 and 1888 have been preserved.

The current paintings were made by Jasi Ștefan and Daniela Sălăjan, and the iconostasis was made by Vasile Chici of Rus.
