Rosia emergence, Pădurea Craiului Mountains

Roșia emergence is the spring of the valley that bears the same name, a fount with a flow that can reach even 10-15mc. It is located at the feet of some calcareous steeps which are more than 100 m high above the fount. It is one of the greatest founts from the Pădurea Craiului Mountains, being supplied by the waters that flow through Perje slope, the slope from Jurcanilor cave; the siphon from Sohodol cave, the slope from Bare brook, the slopes from under Stanul Foncii, Vaii Fiului slope, and probably those collected in the subterranean through the slope from Băroaia brook, Valea Botului slope, the losses from the Great Poiana and the slopes from Cuculeasa.

About 400 m after the exit, it collects, from the left, the waters that emerge from the Guruiețului cave, and after it reaches the great glen of Roșia it becomes the most important collector of the waters from this area. Roșia emergence provides the Șteze locality with drinking water
