Hârtopul Bonchii Cave, Pădurea Craiului Mountains

Bonchii cave is situated in the Farcu tableland, between Lazurilor and Șteazelor vales. The exploration has been started in 1968, today reaching the length of 2300 m.

The entrance, hidden under a wall is very narrow, accessible only for the slim persons. A few meters from the entrance there is a vertical well of 9 m, leaned towards the outside and very dangerous at descent. It's an active cave; the river is found at the basis of the well. Bazinelor, Coloanei, Haotică, Catedralei, Suspendată and Prăbușirilor corridors offer more and more surprises. It is a dreamworld, a creek cave, but with many concretions, with several ducts and subterranean affluents. The waters it collects reappear through the Gruiețului cave. It is a protected and a closed cave.
