Stanul Foncii vertical cave, Pădurea Craiului Mountains

Stanul Foncii abyss is situated south from the steep with the same name, in the upper basin of the Cuților valley. It was discovered in 1979. The access to the underground is provided by two parallel wells. The main one is represented through a 60m long vertical. At the basis of the well there is a large corridor with a course of water in it, course that probably comes from under the Stanul Foncii Ponor. The upstream part of the course presents some gorges and high places up to 40m and it ends with ruins. Towards the rivermouth, there is a lightly descending gallery which closes up with an impenetrable syphon.
