Dobos Cave, Pădurea Craiului Mountains

Doboș cave is situated at South-West from the Ciurului pit, in the pit of Doboș. Delved in tithonic limestone, it has a conical oval shape, 50 m deep. In rainy periods the waters drift and disappear in the bottom of the pit, through the Doboș cave. The cave was discoverd in 1962 and it has a length of 320 m. The entrance, measuring 3x5 m, opens up at the basis of a calcareous steep.

Towards the basis of this steep drift all the waters from the slopes of the pit. After a strongly descending narrow gallery follows a longish corridor, beautifully set, from where an upward gallery with a well of 15m is detached. The downward gallery on the East ends with an impenetrable duct.
