Odorheiu Secuiesc, Haáz Rezső Museum

The museum, founded by Professor Haaz Rezső (1883-1958), was based on a collection of the reformed college in 1772, to which the teacher added the personal collection of folk art, containing about 4,000 exhibits. In 1990, the 76,000 volumes of the Scientific Library came to the museum.

Of note, 2,600 volumes were printed abroad before 1700. In 1994, when it reached the city administration, the museum became a legal entity and an institution in its own right. It has sections of ethnography, history and archeology, plastic art, and natural sciences. A collection presents the activity of the 17 guilds (XVI-XIX centuries), lace, wooden objects, ceramics, collections of mineralogy, botany and fauna. There are 7 Byzantine tools, of which 5 are unique. The museum boasts a library of 80,000 volumes.
