Moardăș, Evangelical fortified church

Moardăș former Saxon village retains an evangelical church built in the fourteenth century. It is a Gothic church with a single ship. In 1880 the bell tower collapsed. The altar built by Petersberger in 1789 had an older painting, made in 1700. The organ of Samuel Matz was dismembered during the First World War. In 1963 he received new tubes and 30 years later the organ was sold. After the Saxons left, the church remained in the cave, and after a robbery, only the frame remained from the altar. Still, the Saxons did not forget it. Under the guidance of a son of the village of Fritz Roth, the Saxon Association of Germany, who left Moardas, had money and repaired the roof of the church, specialists and 30 volunteers from Germany, European funds and church repair began.
