In 1986, Professor Elie Wiesel, born in Sighet, received the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2000-2002 the house where was born Elie Wiesel, was transformed into a museum house. In the first room are furnished with antique pieces and paintings exposed Hebrew families of Sighet.

The following rooms can see the 30 volumes published by Elie Wiesel, a corner bench reconstituted. The panels feature biographical sequences and photographs of Elie Wiesel's visit to Sighet. Personal items, photographs, documents, talk about the deportation of Jewish communities.
