Corund, Szekler gates

In Corund we can see many carved Szekler gates. Residents can afford carved gates of this size because the pottery they make and its sale bring good money to people's homes.

The carpentry of a Szekler gate and the work of 30-40 days submitted for its realization swallow three salaries of an official. By raising the Szekler gates, the locals also contribute to the observance and preservation of popular traditions.

The monumental gate in front of the museum was renovated as part of a program to revive the old gates, supported by the Harghita County Council. It is a carved and painted gate, with coat of arms and crown, by Kovács Benedek in 1899 and brought here in the 1970s.

Reason dove and inscriptions on the gates Corund occur frequently, but there are gates that is the job owner.
