Cavnic, Sycamore maple secular

Acer pseudoplatanus, a turntable 30 m tall, with a trunk diameter of 1.32 m. It was a tree protected only by city residents. Unfortunately, some people found this tree over 200 years old to be a danger to the surrounding buildings. In August 2008 came "specialists" and have lawn without mercy, not to have any chance of survival. He lived long enough! Since then, every spring people are watching, maybe one day they will rise. Only the plaque of the Romanian Academy reminds us that here lived a monument of nature.
