Emergence Izbandis

The Izbandis emergence is to be found in the Pădurea Craiului, in the right side of the Magura-Izbandis valley, at the South-western part of Varsuncuius settlement. It can be approached via two blazes

The emergence collects water from Zece Hotare and Groapa Cărmăzanului, from 18 km2. It is a true challenge for divers with its estimated 100m depth. Unfortunately there have been some victims of the depth. Here died in 1984 at a level of 40m depth the well-known diver, Gabor Halasi. The runoff of the water break out is 100-200 l/s but in case of heavy downpours it can reach the 3178 l/s value, as it happened in 1982. In the rock wall above this water break-out we can find the peștera Izbândiș cave.
