Bădăcin is a locality situated in Sălaj county, with a population of 748 inhabitants.

The first certification of Bădăcin locality dates since 1213. In the middle ages its citizens were exempted from annual fees. They gained these privileges for defending the Báthory István fortress (The king of Poland and Prince of Transylvania) from Șimleu Silvaniei. The old church was built in 1705 and first school in 1851. The present school was built at the expense of Iuliu Maniu.
