Cehu Silvaniei locality is at west of Someș, where county road 196 intersects with the one to Zalău. The name indicates locality's Czech origini. Documents since 1319 mention Ceh stronghold, certified since 1405. In XV century was property of The Jakcs and Drágffys. Later one participated a lot at its development, had an important role in population religious converting to reformed. In XVIII stronghold lost its importance and is demolished. Reformed church was built on medieval catholic church's foundation.
