Almașu locality placed under Almașu Stronghold is spreading lengthwise stream Almaș. Formerly it was a Benedictine centre, but order's representatives were chased from by Kán László, and in their stead were brought those from premonstratense, who left after consuming the monastery's fortune. After the tartar's incursion, period when the monastery was destroyed, Almașului's estate was attained by The Gergelys, then by The Borsas, who probably raised Almașului stronghold. The fortress influenced the locality's life, they belonged to the king then to the noble's families. The locality flourished during peace, suffered, was destroyed during war. The last stronghold's attack was in 1658, occupied and burned by tartars, inhabitants hiding in the stronghold became captives. At beginning of XIX century The Csákis builted a manor in Almașu, used stronghold's stones brought. The locality's reformed church was built in XIII century, like orthodox one in 1939.
