Almas fortress

Almașu stronghold placed at east of Almașu. A construction with 4 floors, ruins resisted up until today reaches 2o m high. Are Tower's remains with a surface of 5x5 m and thickness of 2m. In interior side of the wall beams' place can be seen, at 2nd's floor level the fireplace's chimney. Stronghold's access was assured by a bridge over the water moat, surrounding the stronghold. Wall's remains strengthened with towers can not be seen. Along the history it was attacked by waiwode neighbors (1540), Basta's army (1602), Turks-tartars (1658), tried to dominate the stronghold. The last ones succeeded to burn it. At beginning of XIX The Csákys succeeded to carry a lot of the wall, until prefect's intervention stopped the destruction. Since then the forest dominated all being almost impossible to reach the stronghold.
