Nistru mine

In the area of Nistru, mining has been practiced since ancient times. Mines seventeenth century Austrian State monopoly of the nineteenth century wealthy families have continued. In the First World War the galleries covered copper needs.

In 1922 it was closed and the miners went to the mines in the Jiu valley. Until 1989 mining was reorganized several times, mines were baptized on 9 May (the day of victory against fascism) and 11 June (the end of nationalization), but due to obsolete technology and technology mining became unprofitable.

Mine 9 Mai closed in 1998 and 11 June in 2004. As of January 1, 2007, the date of Romania's accession to the European Union, extraction activity can no longer be subsidized. So all copper, gold and silver mines were closed. People have been picking up scrap, and the crowd began to collapse blocking people in the galleries. In 2012, Remin SA holds operating licenses but is in insolvency for three years. The liquidators requested the reorganization of the company's activity, because gold deposits exist, and here in Nistru ....
