Șinteu, Catholic church

Catholic church from Șinteu built of stone and clay between 1795-1810 by Slovaks brought here by The Bánffys. Tower is of burnt brick, walls are based on five buttresses.

Two of them are on tower's side, three on altar's side. Church entrance is under the tower and so bell's ropes can be seen at nave's entrance. Church's impressive dimensions are justified by the fact that 99,9% of inhabitants are romano-catholics religion Slovacs. Church's interior was renovated after 1990 with help of other churches from the country and abroad.

Main altar is from Slovacia, Saint Mary altar and The Heart of Jesus are from Switzerland. The tabernacle with two angels was donated by Oradea's bishop Lajcsák Ferenc at church's construction. Main altar's paiting made by Kristófi János.

Parish near church was arranged in the hunting castle of The Bethlens after Bánffy Aladár sold it to the church.
