The brick and stone church was erected between 1880-1884, with financial help from the followers.

In 1884 the tower collapsed. It was rebuilt between 1891 and 1892, and restored to its original shape in 1943.

The altar screen was made in 1931. Some pieces of the old, Horia church are preserved inside the church. Regrettably, the old wooden church of Albac is now in Olănești, to where it has been moved according to some unnamed principles. A Cyrillic gospel, ten old paintings of saints and a bell, which sounded the call for the Horea uprising, can also be seen here.
