Nepomuki János was born in the Czech Republic in the 14th century. He was the priest who is confessing queen accused of infidelity. King eager to know the truth, and angry that the priest kept secret confession, ordered his execution. Pope Benedict in 1729 sanctioned him. Saint Nepomuk became the protector of fishermen, sailors, water mills, and Transylvanian miners.

Believers in Băița raised a chapel in 1832. The chapel today was built by the Kende Dániel forester in 1906, instead of the old one.
