Gales lake

Gales Lake is located in northeastern Retezat mountains. It is located at an altitude of 1990 m, has an area of 4.5 ha and a maximum depth of 10 meters. By its dimensions Lake Galesu ranks fourth among lakes from Retezat, after Bucura, Zănoaga and Negru

The lake is maintained by a torrent that descends from the three lakes known as Zănoagele Galeșului. Its waters give rise to the Izvoarele Galeșului stream, which, after crossing the area full of junipers, joins the waters of the Rele Valley and flows into the Lake between trees area
