Piatra Iorgovanului is part of the Piule-Iorgovanu Mountains, the limestone area of Retezat National Park and is located at the southern limit of the park. The aspect of the mountain differs from the mountains of Retezat and Godeanu. The Stone of Iorgovanu with its 2014 m is the third peak after Piule and Scorota. The area features characteristic carst shapes, including the tip of the peak, but also the caves, doline and surrounding wings. Also, thanks to the Piatra Iorgovanului carst, there are rare plants that are not found in the Retezat granits. At Piatra Iorgovanului you can reach the following routes:
