Taul Goat is the most picturesque and photogenic lake in Retezat. Hidden from the rocks in a narrow bucket is naturally protected because all routes that bring here are cumbersome and require mountaineering experience. It is located under closed doors, at an altitude of 2130 m

Powered by four springs and snow avalanches reached an area of 2.30 hectares, with a length of 200 and a width of 130 m gives a special charm grassy islet started occurring after an avalanche on the peak height Goat and off the lake, depositing debris that exceeded the water level by about a meter. The maximum depth is 6 m of water draining downhill, but rich creek can be seen at about 15 m from the lake.
