The Roman camp from Bucium is on the north side of the locality. It was an auxiliary strong camp, fortified with a stone wall and towers, an important point in roman defensive system, assuring the protection of Porolissum area.

The first denotations about the camp come since XVI century from the transilvan historical Stephanus Zamosius.

On the high plateau after archeological diggings made by Zalău and Cluj specialists walls, odins, towers, gates and basilica were identified. The works lasted 13 years (1963-1976) period in which the area was explored, ruins were identified and conserved. They reached the conclusion that the stone wall fortification was probably built at the beginning of III century during reign Caracalla (211-217). At north-east from camp the civil settlements' remains and at south-east the thermae remains were identified.
