Baia Mare, Museum of Ethnography

On July 1, 1978 to the Museum of Ethnography, he was moved to the pavilion near the Village Museum. The former summer theater building houses exhibits that mirror traditional occupations, folk crafts, technical installations, the popular port, objects of worship.

Objects from the four ethnographic areas: Country Maramures, Lapus, Country Chioarului and Country Forests. The oldest piece, a spoonful of wood, dates from 1734.

Among the technical installations there is a beech press dated 1878 and a grape press dated 1861. The ceramic pieces come from the numerous centers that operated in the north of Romania.

In the icons we admire icons made of wood and glass. Meeting folk costumes and interior textiles eye by palette of colors and shapes, making a clear distinction between the four ethnographic areas. In the middle of the room we can admire two wedding halls.

Most interior fabrics from the north, where red dominates geometric shapes.
