Tîrgu Mureș, Orthodox Synagogue

Along 1941 the number of Jews was of above 6000 after the war of 1500 and now of 170 in the city of Târgu-Mureș. In 1857 the Jewish community built a house of culture what was demolished in 1972. The orthodox Jew's church was built between 1898-1899 after the plans of the Viennese architect Jacob Gartner. The huge building reflects the financial power of the community. It has a symmetric facade and three cupolas as long as the interior is decorated by characteristic patterns.
