At the end of 1849 Austro-Hungaria installed at Zalău a Husar royal regiment and three infantry unities which, starting with 1869 possessed its own permanent military quarters. The barrack was built at the end of XIX century.

The vintage photo immortalized a building with a large frontage and the name of the building: Royal Barracks of Infantry Regiment Baron Fejérváry. At the end of XX century during the area systematization a part of the barrack was gone. The building kept in L shape developed around an interior yard it has two levels and corridors towards the yard. In present the first floor corridor is opened and the second floor is closed with windows. Over the years the building transformed into The General Barracks Dragalina and today it hosts the County Military Centre, but it is in renovation.
